$18K, 2.5 Pounds Of Marijuana Seized In Pennsylvania Drug Bust: DA

A Reading man was caught with thousands in suspected drug money and pounds of marijuana following an investigation, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, March 7.

Edgar Anthony Colon, 33, was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant on his body, vehicle, and residence at 1035 Marion Street, according to Chief Detective Michael Gombar. The Berks County DA’s Drug Task Force and Reading Police had been investigating Colon since August 2024.

During the search, investigators seized approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana—both in bulk and packaged for distribution—along with a digital scale, packaging materials, and roughly $18,000 in suspected drug proceeds, officials said. A cellphone was also confiscated.

Colon was taken into custody and processed at the Berks County Sheriff's Central Processing Center. At the time of the announcement, bail had not been set.
